PHILADELPHIA, PA — Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is introducing a limited-time Mermaid Italian Ice flavor nationwide as the frozen-dessert chain expands its seasonal menu during the peak summer selling season.
The new product combines berry and marshmallow flavors and will be available through July 19 in multiple menu formats, including a Gelati and blended frozen beverage, the company said.
Rita’s said the Mermaid Gelati layers the new Italian Ice flavor with vanilla frozen custard and includes a glitter topping. The company is also offering a Mermaid Ice Blender, which incorporates the flavor into a frozen drink.
The launch comes as restaurant and dessert brands continue to rely on limited-time offerings and seasonal products to drive customer traffic and repeat visits during summer months.

The company stated Mermaid Italian Ice is available at participating locations nationwide through July 19.
