PHILADELPHIA, PA — The 2025 Philadelphia Pride March and Festival, presented by Philly Pride 365, will return on Sunday, June 1, 2025, kicking off Pride Month with a celebration themed “Philly L.U.V.” (Legacy, Unity, Visibility). This year’s event, which marks 50 years since Pennsylvania’s landmark LGBTQ+ anti-discrimination executive order, promises to honor history, foster community, and raise visibility in a big way.
The Pride March will commence at 10:30 AM at 6th and Walnut Streets, guided by speeches from community leaders and an acknowledgment from the Lenape Tribe. The march will conclude in Philadelphia’s Gayborhood, where the Pride Festival will run from 12 PM to 7 PM. This year, attendees will witness the unveiling of the largest progress rainbow pride flag in America, now spanning an unprecedented 600 feet. All individuals are welcome to join the march without registration, though floats and vehicles are prohibited.
The festival footprint, expanded to include Walnut to Pine Streets and Quince to Juniper Streets, will feature over 200 vendors, showcasing local small businesses, entertainers, community organizations, food trucks, and more. Entertainment zones and curated spaces like Sapphic Way, Youth & Family Zone, and Sober Vibes Zone aim to ensure the event is inclusive and accommodating for all attendees.
“Pride is about our community first,” said producer Jeremy Williams. “We prioritize integrity in our organizing, spotlighting local talent, and centering intersectionality.”
Additionally, the day will begin with the Philadelphia Gay News annual Stonewall Awards Brunch at 10 AM, honoring champions of LGBTQ+ advocacy. Other prominent Pride programming includes a red-carpet LUV Awards event at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on May 31, benefitting a youth and young adult Pride prom.
The event recognizes Philadelphia’s vital role in LGBTQ+ history and echoes the legacy of the Reminder Day demonstrations and the 1972 Pride March, celebrating unity while confronting ongoing challenges. “When we practice Legacy, Unity, and Visibility, we grow stronger,” one organizer emphasized.
With last year’s event drawing an estimated 100,000 attendees and contributing nearly $5 million to local LGBTQ-owned businesses, Philly Pride 2025 is expected to generate further significant economic and cultural benefits. The event remains free to enter, with all food and drink pay-as-you-go.
For the LGBTQ+ community and allies, Philly Pride 2025 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of heritage, resilience, and connection.
