PHILADELPHIA, PA — When the workday winds down, Center City comes alive as one of Philadelphia’s most beloved summer traditions returns to bring people together over drinks, conversation, and a midweek reset.
Center City District Sips is back for the 2026 season, kicking off Wednesday, June 3 and continuing every Wednesday through August 26. From 5 to 7 p.m. each week, dozens of restaurants and bars across Center City will open their doors for a lively after-work experience that encourages residents and workers alike to explore the city, connect with friends and colleagues, and support local businesses.
Since its debut in 2004, Sips has become a staple of Philadelphia summers, transforming midweek evenings into opportunities for discovery and connection in the heart of the city.
“For more than two decades, CCD Sips has been woven into Center City’s summer rhythm — a weekly invitation to stay after work, explore a new bar or restaurant, and make the kinds of connections that only happen when you stay a little longer,” said Center City District President and CEO Prema Katari Gupta.
This year’s season begins with a special preview event on Wednesday, May 27 at Dilworth Park’s newly expanded outdoor bar and restaurant, The Patio. Guests 21 and older can enjoy free admission, live DJ entertainment, and a first look at the venue’s summer Sips menu, featuring discounted cocktails, wine, beer, mocktails, and appetizers.
Throughout the summer, participating locations will offer drink specials and deals, with select venues also providing 15% off dinner after 7 p.m. From neighborhood favorites like Harper’s Garden and Village Whiskey to lively destinations such as Independence Beer Garden and Woody’s, the lineup offers something for every taste and atmosphere.
Whether it’s discovering a new spot or revisiting a favorite, Sips invites Philadelphians to slow down, step outside, and enjoy the energy of the city during the warmer months.
