PHILADELPHIA, PA – One of America’s largest pride celebrations is set to return on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Presented by Galaei, the Philadelphia Pride March and Festival will debut America’s largest rainbow pride flag, measuring 400 feet in length. This year’s event promises to be a landmark celebration with the theme “Be You,” inspired by the 55th anniversary of Stonewall.

The Pride March will start at 6th and Walnut at 10:30 AM and conclude in the vibrant Philadelphia Gayborhood. The march, open to all LGBTQ+ communities and allies without registration, will feature participants walking beneath the massive pride flag. Floats and vehicles are not permitted, ensuring a focus on community and solidarity.

Global Drag Icon Sapphira Cristal will headline the festival, making history as the event’s first-ever headlining artist. The festival will kick off at noon and run until 7:00 PM, spanning from Walnut to Pine streets and Quince to Juniper streets. The area will host over 200 small businesses, performers, artists, vendors, food trucks, and community organizations. Attendees can enjoy the festivities free of charge, with food and drink available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Last year’s event received recognition from the CDC for its innovative approach in addressing community needs while maintaining the celebratory spirit of Pride. Philly Pride 365, a program of Galaei, continues this tradition by serving queer, trans, black, brown, indigenous, and people of color.

“Pride is and has always been much more than just a party,” said Galaei Executive Director Tyrell Brown. “It’s a place where we build community, raise awareness of issues impacting us, and provide crucial resources and care. Pride celebrates our activist roots and encourages authentic and free self-expression.”

Brown emphasized that Pride belongs to everyone, stating, “No one organization or individual can own ‘pride’. Galaei celebrates you, celebrating yourself, community, and the love and light you bring to this world both on Pride day and year-round.”

For those interested in volunteering, participating, or sponsoring the festival, Galaei invites you to join in making this year’s Pride an unforgettable celebration of unity, resilience, and joy. Visit www.phillypride365.org for more information.
