PHILADELPHIA, PA — An undefeated Philadelphia lightweight will fight for his first championship belt this month as Jibril Noble headlines Teflon Promotions’ RePlay Volume 3 at The Grand Ballroom.
Noble, 9-0 with seven knockouts, will face Newark, New Jersey, fighter Wanzell Ellison, 11-2-1 with five knockouts, for the National Boxing Association Continental Lightweight Title on Saturday, Aug. 22.
“I am ready to put on a fight for Philadelphia,” Noble said. “Philly is the city for boxing and I am ready to show the world why. I am not walking out of the ring without the belt in my hand on August 22.”
The card will feature seven additional bouts, including Tariq Green against Jose Adolofo Madrigal Rodriguez, Vaughn Adams against Breon Bryant, Jasir Junior against Keonte Johnson, Juan Marreno against Naheem Parker, Aaron Anderson against Christian Aguirre, Christian Cangelosi against Saul Guadalupe Corral Escalante, and Jerome McNeill against Elias Ajuwa.
Teflon Promotions owner Dominic Walton said Noble’s title opportunity adds another significant local storyline to the evening.
“Jibril has a chance to bring another title to Philadelphia,” Walton said. “The NBA has been a great supporter of local Philadelphia fighters and we cannot wait to see who will leave with the belt on August 22nd.”
Fight-week events will begin before the main card. A final press conference is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m., followed by a ceremonial weigh-in Friday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. Both events will be held at Cosmic Café, 1 Boathouse Row in Philadelphia.
