PHILADELPHIA, PA — The roar of the crowd, the rush of the race, and the energy of a citywide tradition are returning this summer—and Philadelphia residents are invited to be part of the action.
The Philadelphia Cycling Classic is gearing up for its highly anticipated 2026 return, and organizers are calling on hundreds of volunteers to help bring the iconic race weekend to life on August 29 and 30. From guiding cyclists through city streets to welcoming guests and supporting race operations, volunteers will play a key role in one of the region’s premier sporting events.
Whether you’re a dedicated cycling fan or simply looking for a unique way to get involved in the community, the event offers a behind-the-scenes experience that puts volunteers at the heart of the action.
Opportunities span a wide range of roles across the race course and event sites. Course Marshals will help ensure the safety of riders and spectators at key intersections, while hospitality volunteers will assist with guest services for sponsors, teams, and VIPs. Those interested in a more specialized role can serve as Medical Control Athlete Escorts, supporting officials with post-race procedures that require professionalism and discretion.
Volunteers can also support the Philadelphia Cycling Classic Charity Ride benefiting the American Association for Cancer Research, giving participants the chance to ride the course themselves while raising funds for an important cause.
Activities will take place across several of Philadelphia’s most recognizable locations, including Lemon Hill, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and Manayunk, bringing the race experience into neighborhoods throughout the city.
With roots dating back to 1985, the Philadelphia Cycling Classic has long been one of North America’s most respected professional road races. Its return in 2026, backed by title sponsor AmeriGas®, promises to once again unite elite athletes, fans, and the broader community in a celebration of sport and city pride.
