PHILADELPHIA, PA — Phenom’s Voice Screening Agent was named a Top HR Product of 2026 by HR Executive, recognizing an artificial-intelligence system the Philadelphia-based company is deploying to automate candidate screening and reduce recruiter workloads across large employers.
The annual competition, hosted by HR Executive and HR Tech, evaluates recently introduced human-resources technologies based on innovation, functionality, ease of use and value to HR organizations. Products undergo judging and a live demonstration before selection.
Phenom’s Voice Screening Agent uses conversational voice AI to conduct role-specific candidate interviews around the clock and in multiple languages. The system generates transcripts and summaries and scores responses against employer-defined criteria.
The agent adjusts questions during conversations based on previous responses rather than following a fixed interview script. Phenom’s Hypercell operating model supplies role, industry and market context used by the system when determining how to proceed.
Phenom reported a 90% candidate satisfaction rate for the technology.
The company also cited customer deployments showing reductions in recruiting workloads and hiring times. One health-care provider cut its time to offer in half and saved 400 recruiter hours a month, while a global retailer saved 17,000 recruiter hours and eliminated a seven-day gap between application and initial candidate contact, according to Phenom.
An industrial manufacturer recorded a 95% screening completion rate across a 100-country operation, while a global technology company extended the system to vice president-level hiring and saved more than 60 hours on a single requisition.
“Recruiters have been rationing their screening attention for years because there was no other option,” Phenom Senior Director of Product Marketing John Deal stated. “Our customers are running Voice Screening Agent across job families that look nothing alike, and they are cutting time to offer in half and giving recruiters back thousands of hours.”
Voice Screening Agent is part of a broader group of specialized AI agents Phenom offers for recruiting and hiring. Other systems handle hiring-manager intake, candidate fraud detection and reviews of onboarding documentation for compliance issues and exceptions.
Phenom WorkOps provides orchestration infrastructure for employers deploying multiple agents, including controls intended to enforce compliance policies, govern agent actions and escalate cases for human review.
The company also offers a Value Acceleration Model and AI Bootcamps intended to help employers measure and expand their use of the technology after initial deployment.
Phenom will receive the award Oct. 19 during the HR Icons Awards Evening at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The company plans to demonstrate Voice Screening Agent during HR Tech 2026 expo hours from Oct. 20 through Oct. 22.
