PECO CEO David Vahos to Transition, Mike Innocenzo Named Interim

PHILADELPHIA, PA — PECO President and CEO David Vahos will transition to a new role as special advisor to Exelon President and CEO Calvin Butler, with Exelon Chief Operating Officer Mike Innocenzo named interim president and CEO of PECO.

Innocenzo will assume the role immediately while continuing his duties as Exelon’s chief operating officer.

He previously served as PECO’s president and CEO from 2018 to 2024 and held multiple leadership roles within the company, including senior vice president and chief operating officer.

“I am honored to once again lead PECO, as we stay relentlessly focused on operational excellence and advocating for affordable energy for our customers,” Innocenzo said.

In his earlier roles, Innocenzo oversaw operations, safety, service reliability, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.

He also held positions in distribution system operations, gas operations, and regional leadership across Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia counties.

Innocenzo serves on several boards, including the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, the Franklin Institute, and the Electric Power Research Institute, and has advisory roles with Drexel University and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Widener University and a master of business administration from Villanova University.
