According to PennDOT, periodic lane closures will occur weeknights on sections of I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) between U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and I-676 (Vine Street Expressway).
Motorists traveling through the corridor should expect backups and slower overnight traffic conditions while crews perform maintenance work. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and seek alternate routes when possible.
PennDOT said the work is part of the agency’s ongoing inspection and maintenance program for overhead highway signs, which are inspected at least once every two years to help ensure structural safety and reliability.
All scheduled activities remain weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions change.
