PHILADELPHIA, PA — Nighttime bridge construction will close sections of Tacony Street and Bridge Street beginning Sunday, July 26, creating detours through Northeast Philadelphia into mid-August. Drivers should plan extra time and expect delays near the work zone and along the designated routes.

Tacony Street will be closed between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street from Sunday, July 26, through Wednesday, July 29.
Northbound Tacony Street drivers will be directed to use Aramingo Avenue/Harbison Avenue and turn right onto Bridge Street to return to Tacony Street.
Southbound drivers will turn right onto Bridge Street and then left onto Aramingo Avenue/Harbison Avenue to return to Tacony Street.
Bridge Street will be closed on weeknights between James Street and Tacony Street from Wednesday, July 29, through Friday, August 14.
Westbound Bridge Street drivers will turn left onto Tacony Street and then right onto Aramingo Avenue to return to Bridge Street.
Eastbound drivers will turn right onto Aramingo Avenue, left onto Orthodox Street, left onto Pearce Street, left onto Lefevere Street and right onto Tacony Street to return to Bridge Street.
Motorists should follow posted detour signs, reduce speed and seek alternate routes when practical. Backups and delays may occur throughout the overnight construction periods.
The work is part of PennDOT’s I-95/BS2 project to reconstruct Interstate 95 in both directions between Margaret Street and Carver Street.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled.
