NEW HOPE, PA — Orchestra BioMed Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: OBIO) will outline clinical development plans and upcoming trial milestones for two cardiovascular technologies at a November 12 investor event in New York City, focusing on treatments for uncontrolled hypertension and coronary artery restenosis.
The New Hope-based biomedical company will host the research and development presentation at 3 p.m. Eastern Time, bringing together executives, cardiologists and clinical investigators to discuss its AVIM Therapy and Virtue SAB programs.
The event will focus on the BACKBEAT and Virtue pivotal trials, which are central to the company’s clinical development strategy.
AVIM Therapy is being developed for patients with uncontrolled hypertension who also require a cardiac pacemaker. The company is advancing the technology through the BACKBEAT pivotal trial and a strategic collaboration with medical device manufacturer Medtronic.
Orchestra BioMed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Hochman and Avi Fischer, senior vice president of medical affairs and innovation, will lead the AVIM presentation beginning at 3:10 p.m.
The discussion will include Vivek Reddy, executive chairman of the BACKBEAT Trial Steering Committee and director of cardiac arrhythmia services at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System.
Marat Fudim, an associate professor of cardiology specializing in advanced heart failure at Duke University Medical Center, will also participate.
The second program, Virtue SAB, is being evaluated in a pivotal trial addressing restenosis, the re-narrowing of coronary arteries following stent interventions.
The Virtue presentation, scheduled for 4:20 p.m., will be led by Orchestra BioMed President and Chief Operating Officer Darren Sherman.
Participating investigators include Dean Kereiakes, chairman of The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute, and Allen Jeremias, director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center in New York.
Both physicians serve as co-principal investigators of the Virtue trial.
Orchestra BioMed plans to discuss the clinical needs addressed by each technology, upcoming development milestones and their potential commercial applications.
The company develops medical technologies through partnerships that share development risks and potential financial returns.
Hochman and Sherman will conclude the event with a question-and-answer session beginning at 5:15 p.m.
