NEW HOPE, PA — Orchestra BioMed Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: OBIO) received a $6.1 million milestone payment Sept. 14 tied to Haemonetics Corp.’s acquisition of Vivasure Medical Limited, lifting its cash proceeds from the transaction to about $11 million as it funds its biomedical development programs.
The payment follows approximately $5 million Orchestra BioMed received upfront in January, when Haemonetics (NYSE: HAE) completed its acquisition of Ireland-based Vivasure.
The latest payment completes the approximately $11 million in proceeds Orchestra BioMed had previously expected to receive during 2026.
Orchestra BioMed remains eligible for as much as approximately $10 million in additional proceeds through future revenue earnouts, subject to achievement of specified milestones. That would bring its total potential proceeds from the transaction to as much as $21 million.
Vivasure had been a strategic holding of Orchestra BioMed since the biomedical company’s formation. Haemonetics completed its acquisition of Vivasure on Jan. 9.
The monetization provides Orchestra BioMed with additional capital as it advances its development programs through partnerships with medical-device companies.
Vivasure developed the PerQseal Elite system, which uses a bioabsorbable patch to close large-bore openings in arteries and veins from inside the vessel. The sutureless system is intended for structural-heart and endovascular procedures.
PerQseal Elite is not available for sale in the United States.
