Odessa Adds Self-Service Tool to Reduce Platform Changes

Odessa

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Odessa has introduced a self-service configuration capability that allows asset finance companies to modify data models, business rules and application programming interfaces without vendor assistance, a move aimed at reducing implementation delays and lowering the cost of adapting enterprise software to changing business and regulatory requirements.

The company said its new Configurable Attributes feature enables authorized administrators to create and manage business-specific data fields throughout the platform without custom coding or professional services.

The release addresses a common challenge for asset finance firms, where new lending products, asset classes, regulatory requirements and geographic expansion often require software modifications that traditionally depend on vendors or internal development teams.

According to Odessa, each configured field becomes immediately available across the platform, including APIs, reporting tools, business rules and data exports, allowing organizations to incorporate new information into pricing, approvals and workflow automation without additional software development.

The capability is designed as a platform configuration rather than custom code, allowing customer changes to remain compatible with future software upgrades while preserving governance and audit controls, the company said.

Joe Juliano, Odessa’s chief executive officer and president, said the feature is intended to reduce the time customers spend waiting for software modifications. “Configurable Attributes removes the weeks—sometimes months—of waiting. Clients can make the changes they need and promote them to production right away, allowing their business to move at the speed opportunities demand.”

Odessa said the feature also extends newly created fields automatically into its API, enabling organizations to synchronize information with customer relationship management systems and other enterprise applications without additional integration work.

The company said configured attributes are immediately available within reporting models, allowing businesses to include new data elements in reports and downstream data extracts without modifying the underlying database structure.

The capability also supports automated business logic by making newly created attributes available to workflow rules and pricing engines. Odessa said lenders can use the functionality to classify vendors, assets or other business data and apply customized approval processes or pricing models without writing code.
