PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming nighttime lane closures on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia next week for sign structure demolition and barrier installation.
From Monday, August 18, through Thursday, August 21, southbound I-95 will have a double right lane closure between the Cottman Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. During the same period, northbound I-95 will see a single left lane closure between the Allegheny Avenue and Cottman Avenue interchanges from Monday through Wednesday, also between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
PennDOT will also conduct one full stoppage of southbound I-95 each night on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM to allow for the safe removal of sign structures.
If weather delays the work, activities may be rescheduled for Friday night, August 22. Motorists are advised to expect significant delays and plan for additional travel time.
