DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Overnight lane closures on Interstate 476 are set to impact drivers across multiple sections next week as crews implement traffic control improvements.
At a Glance
- Roads Affected: I-476 (both directions) and ramps at U.S. 1 (Media Bypass) and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue)
- Dates: Monday, April 27, through Wednesday, April 29
- Times: 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM
- Reason: Traffic control improvements
Lane closures will be in place in several locations, including northbound I-476 between Rogers Lane and Papermill Road in Nether Providence Township, southbound I-476 between Marple Road and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Marple Township, and northbound I-476 between Beatty Road and Sproul Road in Marple Township.
Additional restrictions will affect the ramp from U.S. 1 (Media Bypass) to both directions of I-476 in Marple and Upper Providence townships, as well as the ramp from U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) to northbound I-476 in Radnor Township.
Motorists should expect slowdowns and intermittent congestion across the corridor. Plan extra time and consider alternate routes to avoid delays during overnight travel.
The work is part of a $63.7 million project to resurface and repair nearly 17 miles of I-476 between I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and I-95, including bridge repairs, drainage upgrades, and roadway safety improvements.
All activities are weather dependent.
