PHILADELPHIA, PA — NextGen America, the nation’s largest youth voter organization, is set to host a ‘Hot Ones’-themed event at Temple University on Tuesday, September 19, as part of their National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) celebrations. The event is designed to engage students in key political issues while encouraging voter registration.

The ‘Hot Ones’ challenge is inspired by the popular YouTube series hosted by Sean Evans, where guests answer questions while eating increasingly spicy chicken wings. Similarly, during the NextGen event, Temple University students will be asked to participate in a wing challenge while answering ‘spicy’ questions about their voter registration status, current affairs, and their vision for a representative government.

This initiative is part of NextGen’s national efforts to register young voters on NVRD through a variety of channels including in-person events, calls and texts, and digital activations. The organization aims to engage thousands of young people nationwide who are dissatisfied with the current political climate, empowering them to effect change through their voting power.

The ‘Hot Ones’ challenge also aligns with NextGen’s national Hot Girls Vote campaign, which was launched last month in an effort to drive further youth engagement in the political process.

The event details are as follows:

Date: Tuesday, September 19
Event: NextGen America NVRD ‘Hot Ones’ Challenge
Time: 12:00 p.m. ET – 2:00 p.m. ET
Location: Temple University, Liacouras Walk & Polett Walk, Philadelphia, PA 19122

While NextGen is helping to ensure everyone’s voices are heard through their efforts on NVRD, it is important for all Americans to do their part in helping spread the message of democracy and participate in their respective elections. Voter turnout is the key to a healthy democracy, so we urge everyone interested in making sure that their voice is heard during the upcoming election to attend events like this one. Ultimately, exercising our right to vote helps ensure votes cast truly reflect the values and beliefs of society as a whole. So come on down to Temple University on Tuesday, September 19th for an entertaining evening full of hot wings and political discourse!
