FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Newrez is expanding its partnership with insurance marketplace Matic by integrating real-time homeowners insurance comparison tools into its HomeHub platform, a move aimed at helping borrowers manage rapidly rising insurance costs.
The integration gives Newrez customers continuous access to personalized insurance quotes through Matic’s network of more than 70 carriers, allowing homeowners to compare coverage options and evaluate potential savings directly through the lender’s digital portal.
The expansion comes as homeowners insurance premiums continue to climb nationwide, creating a growing affordability challenge for homeowners and mortgage servicers alike. According to data cited by Newrez, average homeowners insurance premiums increased 64% between 2021 and 2025, reaching $2,625 annually by the end of last year.
Newrez said some states experienced premium increases exceeding 75% during that period, with average annual costs approaching or surpassing $4,000.
The insurance comparison service has been added to HomeHub, Newrez’s customer portal launched in late 2025 that provides access to mortgage information, refinancing opportunities, home equity tools and property search services.
In addition to comparing insurance quotes, homeowners can review an insurance risk assessment and policy protection score intended to provide a broader view of their current coverage profile.
“Insurance costs have trended up dramatically over the past five years, and we wanted to help proactively mitigate this real pain point our homeowners have been dealing with,” Leslie Gillin, Newrez’s chief commercial officer, said in a statement.
The companies said Newrez customers who switched insurance providers through Matic during 2025 saved an average of $928.
The partnership reflects a broader trend among mortgage lenders and servicers seeking to expand digital offerings beyond traditional loan servicing as housing-related expenses, including insurance and property taxes, consume a larger share of household budgets.
“We’re pleased to expand our partnership with Newrez and bring Matic’s network of over 70 carriers to Newrez’s digital ecosystem,” Matic Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Ben Madick said.
Newrez said the integration is available through HomeHub and is designed to provide homeowners with ongoing access to insurance pricing and coverage comparisons rather than limiting shopping opportunities to mortgage origination or renewal periods.
