- Dates: Sidewalk opens Tuesday, April 28; Hinkley Avenue closure ongoing for several months

- Reason: Bridge reconstruction and roadway improvements
Beginning Tuesday, pedestrians will be directed onto the new west sidewalk across the Sellers Avenue bridge over AMTRAK rail lines. The temporary pedestrian crossing used during construction will be closed and removed the night before.
While the pedestrian improvement marks progress, drivers should be aware that Hinkley Avenue remains closed to through traffic between Morton Avenue and Sellers Avenue, including the intersection at Sellers Avenue.
Motorists will be directed to use Swarthmore Avenue as part of a local detour around the closure.
Drivers should expect delays in the area, especially near detour routes and construction zones. Plan extra time and consider alternate routes when traveling through Ridley Park.
The Sellers Avenue bridge has been closed since July 2022 and is expected to reopen to vehicle traffic later this summer. Additional construction and roadway upgrades will continue through 2027.
