PHILADELPHIA, PA — Medicus Pharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: MDCX) appointed Chief Medical Officer Faisal Mehmud as chief executive officer of its UK subsidiary Antev Limited, effective Aug. 30, consolidating leadership as the company advances Teverelix through clinical development and regulatory work.
Mehmud will remain chief medical officer of Medicus and co-chairman of Antev, adding responsibility for the subsidiary’s scientific, clinical, regulatory and operational activities.
The leadership change comes as Medicus pursues development of Teverelix for multiple indications, including advanced prostate cancer, acute urinary retention and women’s health. The company is working through regulatory interactions, late-stage clinical development and potential strategic partnerships for the drug.
Mehmud succeeds Amit Kohli, who has served as Antev’s interim chief executive officer since Medicus completed its acquisition of the company on Aug. 29, 2025.
Kohli had agreed at the time of the acquisition to remain for one year to oversee the transition of Antev’s operations, development programs and stakeholder relationships, according to Medicus.
“His more than 20 years of global pharmaceutical leadership experience, deep understanding of Teverelix and experience leading global clinical development, regulatory and medical organizations position him well to lead Antev through its next phase of clinical development,” Medicus Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Raza Bokhari said.
Before joining Medicus, Mehmud held senior positions at Pfizer, GSK, Bristol Myers Squibb, Novartis and Sanofi. His experience spans clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory strategy, pharmacovigilance and scientific communications across oncology, hematology, rare diseases and primary care.
Mehmud has worked on the development, regulatory approval and commercialization of small-molecule drugs, biologics, monoclonal antibodies, cell therapies and cytotoxic chemotherapies. He has also led international teams responsible for late-stage clinical programs and regulatory interactions.
Mehmud earned his medical degree from the University of Cambridge and completed postgraduate training in internal medicine in the UK. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and is licensed by the UK General Medical Council.
