WILMINGTON, DE — The LYCRA Company recently launched LYCRA ANTISTATIC fiber globally for use in workwear and personal protective equipment to address static discharge risks in industrial environments.
The fiber is engineered with additives integrated into its structure to provide anti-static properties while maintaining stretch and recovery performance.
Static electricity in industries such as petrochemicals, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and aerospace can pose risks including electrostatic discharge, dust attraction, and worker discomfort.
According to the company, fabrics incorporating the fiber can support compliance with anti-static standards such as EN 1149 and IEC 61340, depending on fabric design and testing.
“Professional workwear and protective apparel must perform reliably every day, in demanding conditions,” said Marc Souto, West and South Europe area sales manager at The LYCRA Company.
The product is designed for integration into knit fabrics without requiring changes to existing manufacturing processes and is available in multiple decitex options for various garment types, including base layers, tops, bottoms, and outerwear.
The company will present the fiber at the Techtextil trade show alongside other materials, including LYCRA T400 fiber, COOLMAX EcoMade fiber, and THERMOLITE fibers, which are used for durability, moisture management, and insulation.
The LYCRA Company produces fiber and technology solutions for the apparel industry.
