LITITZ, PA — Lititz Mutual Insurance Company has selected Guidewire Software Inc. (NYSE: GWRE) to bring artificial intelligence into its underwriting and claims workflows, giving employees and independent agents faster access to the insurer’s policies, procedures, and internal expertise as the industry contends with employee turnover and onboarding demands.
ProNavigator uses conversational AI to retrieve insurance-specific information and provide recommendations within existing workflows. Lititz Mutual expects the system to reduce time spent manually searching documents and other systems.
The deployment will initially support employees and independent agents handling underwriting and claims work, with Lititz Mutual positioning the technology as a foundation for additional AI capabilities in future agent and customer interactions.
“We see AI as an opportunity to make our employees and independent agents more effective by putting trusted information directly into their workflows,” President and Chief Executive Officer Henry Gibbel said.
The insurer cited security, governance and ease of adoption among its considerations in choosing the Guidewire product.
The investment comes as insurers look to preserve institutional knowledge and improve employee productivity amid workforce turnover and the need to train new employees and agents.
Guidewire described embedding the technology into operational workflows as intended to give agents, adjusters and underwriters information when they need it rather than requiring separate searches.
