Lincoln Financial Replaces CFO, Starts Search for Successor

Lincoln Financial

RADNOR, PA — Lincoln Financial (NYSE: LNC) recently appointed Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer Adam Cohen as interim chief financial officer effective immediately after CFO Chris Neczypor decided to leave the insurer for an opportunity outside the industry, triggering a search for a permanent finance chief.

Neczypor will remain with the company through the end of August to assist with the transition. Lincoln plans to consider both internal and external candidates for the permanent position.

The leadership change places Cohen in charge of Lincoln’s finance organization as the company pursues a strategy focused on more durable earnings, stronger free cash flow, long-term growth and disciplined capital allocation.

“This phase of our strategy represents an inflection point, with a clear path forward, strong momentum and meaningful opportunity ahead,” Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Ellen Cooper stated.

Cohen has served as chief accounting officer since 2022 and assumed oversight of treasury operations in 2024. His responsibilities also include enterprise expense management and fixed-income investor relations, and he previously led the company’s broader investor relations function.

Cooper credited Cohen with strengthening financial controls, managing expenses and developing and overseeing Lincoln’s funding agreement program.

“As Treasurer, he developed and oversees our funding agreement program and brings deep experience in capital markets,” Cooper stated. “That skill set makes him exceptionally well prepared to head our finance organization while we complete our search.”

Before joining Lincoln, Cohen served as chief financial officer of Archwell and spent 13 years at EY working in insurance audit and advisory roles.

He holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bucknell University.
