PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Cobbs Creek Foundation and Lincoln Financial (NYSE: LNC) on Monday marked the opening of the Lincoln Financial Center at Cobbs Creek and the start of the site’s first full golf season since redevelopment began.

The 42,000-square-foot, three-story facility includes a driving range, golf entertainment center, restaurant, retail shop, and a 200-person event space, forming part of a broader effort to restore the historic Cobbs Creek Golf Course.

The project is part of a long-term redevelopment led by the nonprofit Cobbs Creek Foundation, with Lincoln Financial serving as a founding partner since March 2025.

Foundation President Jeffrey Shanahan said the new center is intended to support both recreation and community programming.

“We are thrilled to bring to life our partnership with Lincoln Financial on the new Cobbs Creek Golf and Education Campus,” Shanahan said.

Lincoln Financial Chairman and CEO Ellen Cooper said the partnership extends the company’s focus on community investment and education.

“We are proud to support the Cobbs Creek Foundation’s work to expand access and opportunity across Philadelphia,” Cooper said.

The facility, which first opened in December 2025, features a double-decker driving range with 68 bays equipped with Toptracer technology, a restaurant called The Little Horse Tavern, a pro shop, and a top-floor event space known as 1916 by Fitler Club.

The center also supports educational programming, including the Smilow Woodland TGR Learning Lab, which offers free academic and career-focused programs for students in grades 1 through 12.

A new financial literacy initiative, Money Moves, is scheduled to launch in July for students in grades 4 through 12 and their families, with plans to expand to additional locations during the 2026-27 academic year.

The Q School short course, now open to the public, is designed for golfers of varying skill levels and serves as an entry point for new players.

The Cobbs Creek Foundation is raising $180 million to complete restoration of the historic golf course, with an 18-hole championship course expected to open in 2027 and a nine-hole Karakung course planned for 2028.

The Cobbs Creek Golf Campus is managed by Troon, a provider of golf and hospitality services.
