UPPER FREDERICK TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that geotechnical borings will take place next week on Perkiomenville Road in Upper Frederick Township, Montgomery County, as part of preliminary work for future roadway improvements.
From Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 14, lane closures with flagging will be in effect on Perkiomenville Road between Route 73 (Big Road) and Little Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each weekday. Motorists should plan for possible delays and allow additional travel time. All scheduled work is weather dependent.
Geotechnical borings involve drilling to collect soil and rock samples that help engineers assess ground stability and design requirements for infrastructure projects. These studies are a critical step in ensuring the safety, durability, and cost efficiency of future construction.
