Lane Closures Scheduled for Curb Construction on U.S. 1

Traffic Advisory

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that A.P. Construction, Inc. will begin curb construction next week as part of the St. Joseph’s University pedestrian bridge project on U.S. 1 (City Avenue). The work will impact traffic in both Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

From Monday, April 14, through Friday, April 18, a 24-hour lane closure will be in effect on U.S. 1 City Avenue in both directions between 59th Street and Lapsley Lane.

Motorists driving through the area are encouraged to allow extra travel time, as delays and backups are anticipated during the construction period. PennDOT has also emphasized that the schedule is weather dependent and may be subject to adjustments.
