PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that lane closures will be in effect next week on Kelly Drive and Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia as part of several ongoing resurfacing projects aimed at improving more than 200 miles of state highways in the five-county region.
From Wednesday, September 3, through Friday, September 5, daily closures will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on:
- Rising Sun Avenue, between Cottman Avenue and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard)
- Kelly Drive, between 25th Street and Ridge Avenue
These projects involve repairing, milling, and repaving roadway sections with new asphalt pavement to seal the surfaces and deliver a smoother, safer ride for motorists.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead and expect delays, as backups are anticipated in the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
