LANCASTER, PA — Fireworks, live music, family activities, food, games, and a new Splash Zone are coming to Penn Medicine Park as the Lancaster Stormers prepare to turn the ballpark into a free America 250 celebration.

The July 3 event will transform the stadium and surrounding parking lots into a festival-style Independence Day gathering, even though the Stormers will be on the road and no home baseball game is scheduled.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with activities planned throughout the evening before a fireworks display begins at 10 p.m.

Guests can enjoy a full lineup of entertainment, including a 3 Legacies Wrestling Expo, the Crazy On Clay Car Show, a Synergy Dance Complex performance, hot dog and pie-eating contests, a hypnosis show, DJ Mike Miller inside the stadium, and a performance by the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra leading into the fireworks.

The Stormers have also added a Splash Zone in right field, giving families a place to cool down with water activities during the summer celebration.

Additional attractions will include bounce houses, a petting zoo, carnival games, historical reenactments, vendors, a pig roast, and concessions available for purchase.

“As the oldest inland City in the United States, Lancaster’s role in celebrating the 250th anniversary of the forming of our country cannot go without notice,” Lancaster Mayor Jaime Arroyo said. “We are proud to celebrate our heritage, while also recognizing that we couldn’t be here without those who welcomed our ancestors here long ago.”

The event is supported by community partners including the City of Lancaster, WGAL, and Discover Lancaster.
