PHILADELPHIA, PA — InLiquid Gallery is presenting its largest new-member exhibition to date at the Crane Arts building in South Kensington, bringing together work by 42 artists across painting, sculpture, photography, collage, jewelry and mixed media.
The ninth edition of the exhibition, titled “New Now IX,” features artists connected to Philadelphia and communities including Argentina, Nigeria, Turkey and the Caribbean. Their work addresses subjects including neighborhood identity, immigration, diasporic heritage, spirituality, folklore and cultural tradition.
The exhibition is the first installment of the New Now series to include jewelry, broadening the range of disciplines represented in the annual showcase.
Participating artists include Elisa Abeloff, Omenihu Amachi, Chad Andrews, Alex Bard, Laurie Beck Peterson, Ernesto Beckford, Alana Bograd, William Bowser, Raymond Carballada, Jake Dombroski, Jessica Doyle, Seher Erdogan, Linda Fernandez, Andrea Finch, Chuck Fischer, Donna Grande, Laura Havlish, Kara Hetz, Carolyn Kline-Coyle, Lupien LaMountain and Niki Leist.
The roster also includes J. Rudy Lewis, Zoe Marchiano, Barbara J. Mayfield, Beau McCall, Thomas W. Moore, Nini Mosiashvili, Joann Neufeld, Diane Pepe, Jonathan Porat, Ally Ruff, Amy Salzman, James J. Scannell, Linda Schneider, Lynnette Shelley, Eric L. Spieler, Michael Stevenson, Krista Svalbonas, Gay Walling, Peggy Washburn, Margaret A. Watson and Julie Woodward.
Founded in 1999, InLiquid connects artists with audiences across Philadelphia and the surrounding region.
The exhibition is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m. at InLiquid Gallery, 1400 N. American Street in Philadelphia. An opening reception is scheduled for Aug. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The release lists the exhibition’s closing date as Aug. 29, 2025, which conflicts with its July 27, 2026 publication date and the August reception date.
