BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Drivers in Lower Bucks are seeing some relief as PennDOT has restored the speed limit on Interstate 295 and lifted remaining vehicle and speed restrictions across the Philadelphia region.
At A Glance
- Roads Affected: I-295
- Dates: Restrictions lifted at noon Monday
- Times: Normal speed limits restored
- Reason: Improved post-storm roadway conditions
Officials confirmed that all speed and vehicle restrictions in the region were lifted at noon. While traffic can now resume at posted limits, PennDOT crews continue treating highways as needed.
Motorists should not assume bare pavement. PennDOT emphasized that the agency’s goal during winter weather is to keep roads passable, not completely free of snow or ice. Expect isolated slick spots, especially on ramps, bridges, and untreated secondary roads.
Drivers are urged to give plow trucks plenty of room and never attempt to pass a vehicle actively plowing or spreading materials. Sudden lane changes around maintenance equipment can be dangerous.
Even with restrictions lifted, conditions can change quickly. Plan extra time, reduce speed if needed, and increase following distance if you encounter snow squalls or drifting snow.
