LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — The Greenville Road (Route 1053) bridge north of Denver reopened to traffic after a replacement project restored a direct crossing over Cocalico Creek and ended a detour that had been in place since September.
The bridge is located in West Cocalico Township, just north of the three-way intersection of Greenville Road, Peartown Road and Sportsman Road.
PennDOT confirmed the detour associated with the closure has been lifted.
The $2.59 million project replaced the former structure with a two-span, prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge. The work also includes roadway reconstruction, minor improvements to the approaches, guide rail upgrades and related construction.
Susquehanna Valley Construction Corp. is the project contractor.
Although the bridge is open, PennDOT expects the remaining work to continue through Oct. 16, 2026.
