LANCASTER, PA — Fontana Candle Co. plans to increase manufacturing capacity eightfold this fall, a move the company says will position it as the largest producer of 100% natural candles in the United States and accelerate its expansion in a growing market for non-toxic home products.

The Lancaster-based manufacturer expects production capacity to reach 24,000 candles per day, up from approximately 3,000 daily, as consumer demand for ingredient transparency and domestically produced household goods continues to rise.

The expansion comes as manufacturers across consumer-product categories respond to growing interest in products marketed as natural, chemical-free, and made in the United States.

Founded in 2018, Fontana Candle Co. began as a small-scale hobby business and has since expanded into a national direct-to-consumer brand. The company said revenue increased from $22,835 in its first year of operation to $4.7 million in 2025, with sales projected to approach $10 million this year.

According to the company, the expanded facility will be capable of producing roughly 1,000 candles per hour once fully operational.

“People are paying closer attention to what comes into their homes,” co-founder Eric Roering said. “This expansion allows us to meet demand while staying committed to clean ingredients, transparency and American manufacturing.”

Fontana said it has sold more than 2 million candles since its launch and distributes products through its website, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and retail partners, including Grove Collaborative.

The company manufactures its products in Pennsylvania using beeswax, coconut oil, and essential oils, and said its raw materials are certified under the MADE SAFE program.

The expansion follows a period of rapid growth for the manufacturer. Fontana was previously ranked No. 39 among the fastest-growing manufacturers on the Inc. 5000 list, according to the company.

The additional production capacity is expected to come online in September.
