CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Firstrust Bank has launched a new campaign aimed at helping children and young adults with disabilities access inclusive summer camp experiences. Through its “Make Camp Happen” promotion, Firstrust is partnering with Variety – The Children’s Charity of Delaware Valley to support their accredited summer camp programs across the region.
Running through July 31, the initiative commits $25 to Variety for every new consumer or business checking account opened with Firstrust. In addition, customers can contribute directly to the campaign at local branches, with Firstrust matching those donations up to $5,000.
“At Firstrust, we believe that every child and young adult with disabilities deserves the opportunity to build valuable life skills, cultivate friendships, and create lifelong memories in a supportive and engaging environment,” said Tim Abell, Firstrust Bank CEO and President.
Funds raised will support Variety’s summer programs at its Worcester, Pennsylvania campus and satellite location at Temple University. Designed for campers aged 5 to 22 with intellectual and physical disabilities, the day camp offers accessible activities including swimming, arts and crafts, baseball, and basketball.
Dominique Bernardo, CEO of Variety – The Children’s Charity of Delaware Valley, emphasized the importance of the effort: “Our summer programs give campers the opportunity to increase independence and form new friendships, while offering respite for parents and caregivers.”
The “Make Camp Happen” campaign builds on a long-standing relationship between Firstrust and Variety. Beyond financial support, Firstrust employees regularly volunteer at Variety events, including the upcoming Annie Madden Sunshine Games on July 30. The annual event provides campers with a full day of Olympic-style games and activities.
The campaign reflects Firstrust’s broader commitment to community engagement and inclusive opportunities, particularly for families facing challenges in accessing traditional summer programs.
