RADNOR, PA — eMoney Advisor has launched a digital financial assessment for advisers seeking to engage prospects before developing a comprehensive financial plan, extending its platform earlier into the client-acquisition process as consumers increasingly turn to artificial intelligence for financial information.
Financial Assessment is available to advisers using eMoney’s Premium Client Portal and can be sent to prospects, existing clients and retirement plan participants.
The self-guided assessment evaluates an individual’s finances across areas including spending, education and retirement. Users receive a personalized summary intended to identify potential planning gaps and priorities.
For advisers, the tool provides financial information that can be used during initial conversations without requiring them to construct a comprehensive plan before establishing a deeper client relationship.
The assessment can carry an advisory firm’s branding. Recipients receive an email invitation, create an account and complete the interactive process, with their information remaining within the eMoney platform if they later move into broader financial planning.
The product reflects a shift in how prospective clients may approach financial advice as consumer AI tools make it easier to obtain general information about retirement, education expenses and household finances independently.
“More people are using AI tools to answer financial questions on their own, whether they’re thinking about retirement, paying for college, or managing day-to-day finances,” Chad Porche, senior vice president of product management at eMoney, said.
Porche argued that AI-generated information can create additional questions about how general financial guidance applies to an individual’s circumstances, giving advisers an opportunity to provide more personalized planning.
“Financial Assessment gives advisors a way to engage people at that moment with personalized insights that help move the conversation toward meaningful financial planning,” Porche said.
The lighter assessment also gives eMoney a way to keep prospective clients inside its technology ecosystem before they are ready to use the company’s full client portal.
eMoney is targeting the capability particularly at wealth advisers who also support smaller numbers of retirement plans and want to engage plan participants as potential planning clients.
