PHILADELPHIA, PA — Dunkin’ of Greater Philadelphia on Monday launched its 15th annual “Roasts Hunger” campaign, a holiday-season tradition that has already delivered more than $3 million to local food banks and aims to push that total even higher as families across the region face rising food insecurity.
Running from Thanksgiving Day, November 27, through December 17, the program invites Dunkin’ Rewards members to fight hunger simply by purchasing a Large Hot Coffee. For every cup sold, Philadelphia-area Dunkin’ franchisees — all independently owned small businesses — will donate $1 to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. Every dollar will stay within the region, supporting food banks serving communities in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.
Participating organizations include Philabundance, Food Bank of Delaware, Food Bank of South Jersey, Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank operated by Community Action Lehigh Valley, and Community FoodBank of New Jersey. All funds raised by local franchisees are directed to these regional partners to support emergency food distribution during one of the busiest months of the year.
“Dunkin’ is thrilled to welcome back one of our favorite holiday traditions here in Philadelphia: our Roasts Hunger program,” said Jackie Keown, field marketing director for Dunkin’. “Each year, this initiative unites our area franchisees and guests to make a meaningful impact in our communities. During a time when so many families are facing uncertainty, Dunkin’ remains committed to giving back and helping ensure no child goes to bed hungry or wonders where their next meal will come from.”
With inflation, reduced pandemic-era benefits, and cost pressures continuing to strain household budgets, regional food banks have reported increased demand heading into the holiday season. The Roasts Hunger program is designed to help fill that gap, channeling small contributions from everyday purchases into substantial local support. Franchisees across Greater Philadelphia have funded more than $3 million in food assistance since the initiative began.
Guests can take part by ordering ahead through the Dunkin’ Mobile App or scanning their Dunkin’ Rewards ID at checkout. Those not yet enrolled in the program can join through the app or at dunkindonuts.com. The offer is valid at participating Dunkin’ locations in the United States, with a maximum regional donation cap of $350,000.
More information about participating food banks is available through their respective websites, including Philabundance.org, FoodBankSJ.org, shfblv.org, fbd.org, cfbnj.org, and HelpingHarvest.org. Details on the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation can be found at bringjoy.org.
