PHILADELPHIA, PA — One River Alliance has unveiled details for the highly anticipated 2025 FreedomFest Fireworks Festival, which will take place on July 4 at Pleasant Hill Park along the Delaware River. The free, family-friendly event begins at 5 p.m. and culminates in a spectacular fireworks display at 9 p.m.

Now in its seventh year, FreedomFest has grown into a signature summer event in Northeast Philadelphia, celebrated for its dynamic blend of community spirit and patriotic pride. “What started as a bold ‘what if’ has now become the second largest event in Philadelphia on July 4th,” said Dana Russikoff, Founder and Executive Director of One River Alliance (ORA). “Each year, we’re inspired by how this event has grown, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds who are grateful for a place in their own neighborhood to celebrate the holiday.”

The festival offers an array of attractions, including performances by local musicians like Philly Heart & Soul, a bustling beer garden featuring libations from Philadelphia-based Attic Brewing Co., City Distilling, and Crooked Eye Brewery, and a diverse lineup of food trucks offering everything from classic pretzels to international cuisine. New for this year, a 40-foot Ferris wheel will provide elevated views of the Delaware River, adding an extra dose of excitement for attendees.

The day’s events will close with a state-of-the-art fireworks show by Pyrotecnico, launching from a barge in the Delaware River and filling the night sky with vivid colors and sounds.

Founded in 2019, One River Alliance is a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing community connections and promoting economic vibrancy along the tidal Delaware River, from Trenton to the Delaware Bay. FreedomFest embodies ORA’s mission by fostering community engagement and celebrating the riverfront’s role as a vital cultural and recreational resource.

“We’re honored to offer this free, family-friendly event that captures the heart of summer and spirit of independence in Northeast Philly,” Russikoff added. “We could not do it without the unwavering support of the 8th Police District, Councilman Mike Driscoll, and our generous sponsors.”

The 2025 FreedomFest promises to be a vibrant celebration of community, tradition, and Independence Day for residents and visitors alike.
