LANCASTER, PA — Direct Wire has reached two key milestones at its advanced oxygen-free copper rod mill, signaling a major step forward in its strategy to deliver high-performance copper solutions. The company now offers 12.5mm oxygen-free electronic (OFE) copper rod and has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, formally recognized in March 2025.
These developments strengthen Direct Wire’s position in the copper supply chain, particularly for industries requiring precision-engineered materials such as aerospace, medical, and high-frequency electronics.
The introduction of 12.5mm OFE copper rod expands the company’s product line to better serve customers demanding high conductivity and purity. This size addition supports greater design flexibility for mission-critical systems. “Our 12.5mm OFE rod gives customers more options in designing and building systems that demand the highest conductivity and purity,” said Anthony Catoia, Director of Business Development for Direct Wire’s Copper Division.
In tandem with this product expansion, the company earned ISO 9001:2015 certification—an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems. The certification affirms Direct Wire’s commitment to consistent product quality and operational excellence. “Being ISO 9001:2015 certified reinforces our commitment to quality at every level of our operations,” said Chief Revenue Officer Greg Testa.
Direct Wire continues to leverage its copper upcasting technology and integrated production model to provide supply chain reliability and customized solutions. These recent milestones highlight the company’s ongoing investment in innovation while staying rooted in its core values of service, technology, and people—a formula that has defined its business for nearly five decades.
