DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Drivers in eastern Delaware County should prepare for daytime and overnight lane closures this week as PennDOT crews resurface several busy roadways. Expect delays and allow extra travel time through active work zones.

PennDOT has announced the following traffic restrictions:
- Chelsea Road: Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31, lane closures with flagging will be in effect between Chichester Avenue and Concord Road in Bethel and Upper Chichester townships. Work will include milling, paving and utility adjustments.
- Bethel Road/Station Road: Tuesday, July 28, through Friday, July 31, lane closures with flagging will be in place between Garnet Mine Road and U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in Concord Township for paving and utility adjustments.
Work on both roadways is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.
No detours were announced. Motorists should plan extra time, expect backups through the work zones and seek alternate routes when practical. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions are unfavorable.
The work is part of PennDOT’s ongoing resurfacing and roadway improvement program, which includes repairing, milling and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement to improve roadway conditions and provide a safer, smoother ride for motorists.
