WILMINGTON, DE — DāSTOR LLC has partnered with cybersecurity company Myota to enhance its Backup as a Service platform, a move aimed at strengthening data protection and recovery capabilities for enterprise customers facing rising cybersecurity and infrastructure risks.
The partnership combines DāSTOR’s managed backup and infrastructure services with Myota’s data-storage technology as organizations contend with increasing ransomware threats, growing data volumes, and the operational challenges of maintaining backup environments.
The enhanced service incorporates Myota’s Shard and Spread technology, which divides data into fragments designed to remain inaccessible to unauthorized users while allowing recovery by authorized customers.
Kevin Mulqueen, chief executive officer of DāSTOR, said the collaboration is intended to improve security and resiliency while helping customers manage storage costs.
“Organizations need backup solutions that improve security and resiliency without increasing costs,” Mulqueen said. “Our partnership with Myota strengthens our Backup as a Service offering with a more secure and efficient approach to data protection.”
The companies contend that the platform can reduce storage requirements while improving recovery capabilities in the event of ransomware attacks or system disruptions.
Jim Walker, chief executive officer of Myota, described the technology as an alternative to conventional backup architectures focused primarily on redundancy and recovery.
“We are delivering a fundamentally more resilient and cost-effective model for data protection, one that combines ransom immunity, instant rewind capabilities, and lower storage infrastructure costs,” Walker said.
The partnership aligns with DāSTOR’s broader strategy of expanding backup and disaster-recovery services for hybrid cloud, colocation, and high-density computing environments.
The enhanced Backup as a Service offering is available immediately and targets customers in healthcare, financial services, legal, manufacturing, government, and other data-intensive industries.
