Construction Activities Scheduled on Girard Point Bridge and Other State Highways in Philadelphia, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

GREATER PHILADELPHIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities are scheduled on the Girard Point Bridge and other state highways in Philadelphia, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

The work schedules and locations are as follows:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, September 25, through Friday, September 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge between the Enterprise Avenue and the Broad Street interchanges for bridge inspection; and
  • Monday, September 25, through Friday, September 29, from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a moving lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Interstate 676 between the Broad Street and the Interstate 76 interchanges or line striping.

Delaware County

  • Monday, September 25, through late November, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Springfield Road between MacDade Boulevard and Winthrop Road in Upper Providence Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday, September 25, through late November, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Bishop Avenue between Pine Ridge Road and Westpark Lane in Upper Providence Township for high friction surface treatment; and
  • Monday, September 25, through late November, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Creek Road between Bridgewater Road and Concord Road in Upper Providence Township for high friction surface treatment.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, September 25, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Gulf Mills and King of Prussia interchanges in Upper Merion Township for bridge inspection; and
  • Tuesday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the Gladwyne and the Conshohocken interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
