PHILADELPHIA, PA — Comcast Business has expanded the network infrastructure supporting Levi’s Stadium, strengthening its position in the growing market for technology services that power modern sports and entertainment venues.
The Philadelphia-based company said its connectivity platform underpins operations at the home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, supporting fan-facing services, venue operations, and live-event production across the 70,000-seat stadium.
Sports venues have become increasingly dependent on high-capacity communications networks as teams and operators deploy mobile ticketing, cashless concessions, streaming services, analytics platforms, and large-scale digital displays. Those systems require reliable bandwidth and redundancy to support tens of thousands of simultaneous users during events.
Comcast Business provides dedicated internet connectivity, fiber infrastructure, voice services, and stadium-wide WiFi at Levi’s Stadium. The company said the network supports functions ranging from mobile engagement and concession systems to command-center analytics and operational monitoring.
The infrastructure also supports the stadium’s 4K video production capabilities and large-format video displays, which require significant data capacity and low-latency connectivity.
“Delivering a world-class experience for 70,000 fans starts with connectivity you can depend on,” Costa Kladianos, executive vice president and head of technology for the San Francisco 49ers, said. He added that the organization continues to expand its use of technology as part of its “Intelligent Stadium” strategy.
Christian Nascimento, senior vice president of connectivity and digital customer solutions at Comcast Business, said sports and entertainment venues increasingly function as technology platforms in addition to hosting live events.
The deployment is part of Comcast Business’ broader effort to expand its presence in the sports and entertainment sector, where venue operators are investing in digital infrastructure to improve fan engagement, operational efficiency, and event production capabilities.
