PHILADELPHIA, PA — Pickleball players will have another chance to rally beneath Philadelphia City Hall this fall as CityPickle returns to Dilworth Park with professional-grade outdoor courts open to newcomers, experienced players, and groups looking for an unusual gathering spot in the heart of Center City.
The seasonal pop-up will run from Sept. 2 through Oct. 18, with courts available from noon to 7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends. CityPickle is bringing the program back in partnership with the Center City District and presenting partner Visit Delaware.
“Since day one, CityPickle has focused on creating welcoming places where people can connect through pickleball,” CityPickle Co-Founder and Co-CEO Mary Cannon said.
The location puts the sport directly alongside City Hall as Philadelphia marks the nation’s 250th anniversary, giving residents, workers and visitors a chance to fit a game into an afternoon or evening downtown.
Standard court reservations can be made through the CityPickle app beginning Aug. 26, with reservations opening one week in advance. Players can also arrange an advanced booking of both courts for larger gatherings, including parties, networking events, family and friend outings and corporate team-building activities.

The Philadelphia installation is part of CityPickle’s broader expansion of urban pickleball facilities. The company debuted its first indoor club in Long Island City in 2023 and operates seasonal outdoor courts at Wollman Rink in Central Park. It also opened a flagship location in Times Square earlier this year.
This year’s Dilworth Park pop-up also includes a tourism partnership with Visit Delaware, which plans to use the installation to introduce Philadelphia-area players to destinations and attractions in the First State.
“Delaware is just a short drive from Philadelphia, making it easy for visitors to turn a day in the city into an opportunity to explore the First State,” Jessica Welch, director of the Delaware Tourism Office/Visit Delaware, said.
Welch pointed to Delaware’s beaches, small towns, outdoor recreation, restaurants and tax-free shopping as attractions for potential visitors.
For players, however, the centerpiece remains the chance to pick up a paddle and play outdoors in one of Center City’s most recognizable public spaces.
