Century Therapeutics Advances Diabetes Program With Conference Talks

Century Therapeutics

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Century Therapeutics (NASDAQ: IPSC) will present new data on its experimental type 1 diabetes cell therapy at two scientific conferences this fall, a step that comes as the biotechnology company prepares for a planned regulatory filing later this year.

The company said abstracts on its CNTY-813 program have been selected for oral presentations at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes annual meeting in Milan and the Breakthrough T1D Clinical & Research Congress in Philadelphia.

Both presentations will focus on manufacturing CNTY-813, an induced pluripotent stem cell-derived islet replacement therapy engineered with Century’s Allo-Evasion 5.0 technology.

The presentation at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes will be delivered by Grant Welstead, the company’s senior vice president and head of research, during a session on beta-cell therapies on Oct. 2.

A second presentation will be given by Leonardo Velazco-Cruz at the Breakthrough T1D Clinical & Research Congress on Oct. 9 during a session focused on cell therapy science and clinical research.

According to the company, CNTY-813 is designed to provide an off-the-shelf islet replacement therapy for patients with type 1 diabetes while avoiding the need for chronic systemic immunosuppression.

Century said preclinical studies demonstrated glucose-responsive function, scalable manufacturing, immune protection under alloimmune pressure and a favorable preclinical safety profile.

The company is targeting submission of an investigational new drug application for CNTY-813 to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration during the fourth quarter of 2026.
