CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Cencora, Inc. (NYSE: COR) has added former Ryder System chief executive Robert E. Sanchez as an independent director, bringing decades of logistics, supply-chain and financial experience to the pharmaceutical distributor’s board.
Sanchez is executive chair of Ryder System, Inc., where he served as chairman and chief executive until retiring from the CEO post in March 2026.
His appointment gives Cencora’s board additional expertise in transportation and supply-chain operations, areas closely tied to the company’s pharmaceutical distribution business.
“Robert’s experience as a public-company CEO, including his deep understanding of logistics and supply chains, will complement the Board’s skill set as we support Cencora’s pharmaceutical-centric strategy,” Cencora Chairman Mark Durcan said.
Sanchez became Ryder’s chief executive in 2013 after holding a series of senior positions during more than two decades with the company. His previous roles included president and chief operating officer, president of Global Fleet Management Solutions and executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Cencora Chief Executive Robert P. Mauch cited Sanchez’s experience across operations, finance and technology as relevant to the company’s strategic priorities.
Sanchez also serves on the board of Texas Instruments and as a trustee of the University of Miami. He holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
