HORSHAM, PA — C&D Technologies received a Stratus Award for AI data center infrastructure, recognition that puts the Horsham energy-storage company’s power technology alongside the growing infrastructure demands created by high-density artificial intelligence computing.
The Business Intelligence Group selected C&D Technologies in its AI Data Center Infrastructure category covering power, cooling and density. The Stratus Awards recognize companies and technologies in cloud computing and related markets.
The award centers on C&D’s energy-storage technology for critical infrastructure, where AI workloads are increasing the importance of power availability and resilience as data centers accommodate more computing capacity.
“AI is fundamentally changing the way data centers are designed and operate,” said Bob Malley, vice president of portfolio strategy at C&D Technologies. “It places new demands on power infrastructure and energy resilience.”
Those demands have made power infrastructure an increasingly important consideration in the design and operation of AI data centers. C&D develops energy-storage systems intended to maintain reliability as computing environments become denser and power requirements increase.
Business Intelligence Group Chief Recognition Officer Russ Fordyce said C&D received the award because its technology demonstrated results rather than relying on prospective claims.
The recognition gives C&D another credential as it positions its energy-storage portfolio for critical infrastructure and data center applications, with AI computing creating additional demand for systems capable of supporting higher-density power environments.
