Bridge Inspection to Slow Route 30 Traffic in Mountville

Traffic Alert

MOUNTVILLE, PA — Drivers traveling along Route 30 in Lancaster County should expect midday delays Wednesday as PennDOT crews conduct a bridge inspection over the busy corridor.

  • Roads Affected: Route 30 (eastbound and westbound) at Hill Street (Route 4007) bridge
  • Dates: Wednesday, April 8
  • Times: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

PennDOT said lane restrictions will occur in both directions, with alternating closures of the right and left lanes. Only one lane in one direction will be closed at a time, but traffic slowdowns are likely as vehicles merge through the work zone.

The inspection will be performed using a bucket truck positioned on Route 30, requiring temporary lane closures throughout the day.

Drivers should plan extra time, expect delays, and remain alert when approaching the work area. Reductions in lane availability may create intermittent backups, particularly during peak midday travel.

No detour has been announced. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes where possible to avoid congestion along Route 30.

All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary.
