Avantor Earns Top Marks on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index

RADNOR, PA — Avantor, Inc. (NYSE: AVTR) has achieved a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The company was further recognized as an Equality 100 Award honoree, signaling its leadership role in promoting LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.

The CEI serves as a national benchmarking survey and report that evaluates corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This year, 545 companies received top scores, with Avantor standing out as a leader among them.

Michael Stubblefield, President and CEO of Avantor, expressed pride in the recognition. “We are focused on creating an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity,” he said. “The unique perspectives and experiences of our associates drive innovation, and this recognition by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation underscores our commitment to supporting colleagues of all backgrounds.”

Avantor’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office, established in 2020, has been instrumental in implementing policies and programs that support the LGBTQ+ community. Early initiatives included the formation of employee resource groups and signing onto the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion in 2020.

The company has continued to build upon these efforts, expanding health benefits to ensure full inclusion of spousal and partner benefits, family formation benefits, and transgender benefits. Furthermore, Avantor developed an LGBTQ+-specific benefits guide for associates and provided internal training on LGBTQ+ inclusion topics. The company also co-signed the Human Rights Campaign’s Business Statement Opposing Anti-LGBTQ Legislation.
