Amtech Acquires Clarico to Expand AI Packaging Software

Business news

FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Amtech Software has acquired Clarico Systems as the packaging-industry software provider expands artificial intelligence tools focused on manufacturing estimates, quoting, and operational planning.

The deal adds Clarico’s AI-driven estimating and quoting platform to Amtech’s ERP, MES, and CRM software offerings used by corrugated, folding carton, label, and flexible-packaging manufacturers.

Amtech introduced the acquisition alongside the launch of “Amtech Intelligence,” the company’s broader AI initiative aimed at embedding automation and machine-learning tools into packaging manufacturing workflows.

Chuck Schneider described the acquisition as part of the company’s strategy to deliver AI tools tied directly to manufacturing and operational performance.

“Clarico, integrated into Amtech’s ERP offerings, will provide an unmatched capability that gives our customers a competitive advantage,” Schneider said in a statement.

According to the companies, Clarico’s software is designed to automate and accelerate packaging price quotations by using machine learning to improve quote accuracy, reduce estimating errors, and shorten turnaround times.

The acquisition comes as packaging manufacturers face pressure from rising input costs, labor shortages, and demand for faster production and quoting cycles.

“Our customers are under enormous pressure, from input costs, labor markets, and customer demands for a faster turnaround,” Schneider stated. “AI is not a luxury for this industry.”

Pierre Slabber indicated the transaction would expand deployment of Clarico’s quoting technology across Amtech’s customer base.

“By bringing Clarico’s AI quoting engine into the Amtech ERP offerings, we are putting a competitive weapon into the hands of packaging manufacturers around the world,” Slabber said.

Amtech stated that Clarico’s technology has already been evaluated by some existing customers in folding carton and flexible-packaging operations.

The company also indicated additional AI capabilities tied to scheduling, shipment planning, and manufacturing optimization are under development through its customer advisory group focused on artificial intelligence initiatives.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
