DOUGLASSVILLE, PA — American Crane & Equipment Corporation partnered with United Way of Berks County to assemble and distribute 250 backpacks stocked with school supplies to four local organizations serving students ahead of the new school year.
Employees volunteering through American Crane’s Hoist Up! Outreach Committee prepared the backpacks with supplies intended to help students begin the academic year equipped with basic classroom materials.
The backpacks were provided to Superheroes of Autism, One Luv Outreach, We Agape You Inc. and the office of state Rep. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz for distribution to students in need.
The initiative paired the Douglassville-based company’s employee volunteer program with United Way of Berks County’s community network, using local organizations to direct the supplies to families they serve.
“We are proud to support our community and empower our students,” Stephanie Delibertis, American Crane’s owner and executive director of outreach and development, said. “This event is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together with a common purpose.”
American Crane credited employees who volunteered to assemble the backpacks and indicated that its Hoist Up! committee plans to continue supporting local students through future community initiatives.
