$43,000 Worth of Copper Wire Stolen in Philadelphia Heist: Help Identify Suspects

PHILADELPHIA, PA — According to the Central Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police Department, two unidentified men made off with approximately $43,000 worth of copper wire and piping from a construction site on the 400 block of Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia in the early hours of September 10, 2023, at around 3:45 a.m.,

The suspects were caught on surveillance footage, which has been released to the public in an effort to identify the individuals. They are described as Black males with beards, dressed in dark clothing. They were seen occupying an older model, four-door, dark-colored Ford F150. The vehicle had a ladder rack and plastic or lexan taped in place of three of its windows.

Authorities are urging individuals not to approach these suspects if they are spotted but instead to contact 911 immediately. The theft is part of a worrying trend of copper thefts in the area, with several similar crimes reported in recent months.
