HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania nonprofits now have more than $100 million invested through the state Treasury’s INVEST PA Community Pool, pushing the government-run program to a new asset milestone as it manages funds for nonprofits and local governments.
The Pennsylvania Treasury reported the milestone for the program, which provides pooled investments to nonprofit organizations and local governments.
More than 180 nonprofits participate in INVEST PA’s Community Pool, while more than 220 local government entities use a separate Daily Pool. Combined, the program has more than 400 participants and $1.6 billion in assets, according to Treasury.
Both pools carry an AAAm rating from S&P, the rating agency’s highest principal stability fund rating. INVEST PA permits daily liquidity and does not impose minimum balances, minimum deposits or limits on the number of transactions.
The structure allows nonprofits and municipalities to invest funds while retaining access to cash for operating needs.
“Nonprofits pour their energy into stretching every dollar and INVEST PA allows them to maximize their resources while offering the flexibility they need to manage their finances effectively,” Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity said.
The $100 million figure applies specifically to nonprofit assets in the Community Pool, while the reported $1.6 billion represents total INVEST PA assets across nonprofit and local-government participants.
